Further to the communication in the June 2021 Advisor Report, we have transitioned to the decentralized version of messageserv effective August 4th, 2021. As you know, messageserv is a free, secure, and easy-to-use communication solution for most investment industry participants.

Up to now, head office has been receiving communications from fund companies using the centralized version in messageserv and in turn forwarding the communication to financial advisors to address any issues with client accounts.

The decentralized version of messageserv will allow for direct communication from fund companies to the financial advisor, simplifying the process and eliminating the need to fax.

While the advisor services team will no longer be involved in forwarding “Not In Good Order” (NIGOs) notices to you, the Advisor Services team will still have access to your NIGOs, if needed.

In addition, you will be able to communicate and send documents directly to participating fund companies.

Important Notice:  

The fax process remains the same for non-participating fund companies and B2B Dealer Services. Fundserv is working to onboard all fund companies and B2B Dealer Services.

The change offers many advantages such as:

  • Fast and accurate communication.
  • No loss of documents or messages.
  • Eliminates the need to fax documents.
  • Ability to send secure messages to participating fund companies and eliminating the need to send unsecure emails.
  • With a Case Number assignment and time-based escalation features, all communications are tracked and closed once completed.
  • You will receive an email notification of a NIGO instead of a fax document.
  • Direct interaction between you and the fund company eliminating the need for Advisor Services’ involvement
  • Reduce NIGOs related to resolution loss and legibility issues with faxed documents.
  • Efficient processing of Letters of Indemnity (LOIs)

Please ensure that: 

  1. You have your login ID and password to access messageserv. 
  1. You have granted access to your assistant(s) so that they may also receive messages on your behalf.
